LINDA NILSEN WORKER

Artist/Illustrator/Graphic Designer

Without my pets, my wallet would be full, my house would be clean, but my HEART would be empty

I am a freelance illustrator/Artist and graduate of The Fashion Institute of Technology where I studied illustration and fine art. I have been fortunate to study and work with exceptional talent and artists throughout the years. After graduating college I worked as a fashion illustrator for a buying house in NYC which lead me to the head illustrator position for an East Coast catalog company that published weekly circulars and newspaper ads. That position lead me to the Art Director/illustrator position for a private label manufacturer where I illustrated presentation and mood boards for top retail stores. I am in my "happy place" when I have a paint brush/pencil in hand, whether it be painting a portrait, drawing thumbnail sketches, staining a deck or painting the inside of a house.

I live in the majestic Hudson Valley just 50 minutes outside of NYC. I cant imagine living anywhere else at this time in my life. I wake up every morning and give thanks to God for the opportunities he has given me. Together with my husband, we have built our dream home and raised two beautiful daughters on the peak of a mountain top that has magnificent views of the Hudson River. The sunrises and sunsets are truly breathtaking and inspirational. Also on the property is our horse farm where we have our barn and a multitude of animals, an organic vegetable garden and access to extensive NY parkland trails. My family and I are animal lovers and can't imagine life without the chaos of multiple pets under foot. We are nature lovers and share the property with wild turkeys, deer, bear, foxes and all the other creatures of the forest. Five things I cant live without are my family, friends, pets, art and the ability to be outdoors in nature. My favorite travel destination is Norway, the home of my parents. I try and go back there every few years to reconnect with family and my heritage.
